Green Mountain...without the girls
The trail to Green Mountain was re-opened late last Fall after road washouts caused it to be closed for nearly a decade. In that time it made local and national news because of a contrevertial rebuilding of a lookout cabin.
I took a friend for his first time up. We ran into some snow on the trail, but otherwise found the trail to be in great shape. Having lost a bit of the trail, I took us straight up a hill at one point, and nearly stepped on what was left of a deer.
This contreversial Lookout Cabin was locked up, but the decking that surround 3/4 of it was accessible. I found the toilet to be the highlight of the trip!
Hopefully, it won't be another ten years until I see you again Green Mountain.
