This is a very popular spot to start a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). There are parking areas on both the north and south side of Highway 20 that are each equipped with restrooms. If you choose to hike north, there are numerous spots to enjoy along the way and only 60 miles of trail until reaching the Canadian Border. Cutthroat Pass is 5 miles up, offering a great day hike or overnight.
Choosing to travel south leads you somewhat downhill toward the Stehekin Ranger Station on Lake Chelan. Beyond that you eventually reach the Suiattle River Trail and the shoulders of Glacier Peak! Either direction yields a great payoff.
