Don't Miss This Easy Walk at the End of Baker Lake Road

The first half mile of this trail is level and graveled. You won't want to miss the large cedar trees that dwarf trees in most areas of the Cascade Mountains lowlands. At a half mile from the trailhead is a huge bridge that spans over the Baker River. 

The trail across the bridge continues around Baker Lake to the south end of the lake and is a popular route for backpackers. Another trail continues up the Baker River and stays very flat, though not as groomed to the likeness of an ADA Trail like the first half mile.

The reason this trail is a must see, is one huge cedar tree that some lesser informed explorers  might mistake as a Redwood. Other trees along the path are large, but not like this one! There is a small trail that allows you to walk up to the base of the tree and marvel at its size.

Don't forget that a Forest Pass is required at the trailhead and there is a drop box to pay there if you forgot yours. This trailhead also has a toilet and a rather large parking area.

Turn left just passed the Birdsview Brewery onto Baker Lake Road from Highway 20. This trailhead is 26 miles at the very end of the road, the last few miles are gravel.
