This interview starts out with interviewing some of the kids who did a multi-day backpacking trip from Stevens Pass to North Fork Sauk River Trail. It was fun trying to get the kids to chat and their stories are relatable to anyone who backpacked as a kid!
Their parents come on and talk about the program, how and why they created it. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Darrington, it is a small town nestled between towering mountains and somewhat cutoff from far stretching neighboring towns.
They really wanted a program to get kids into the outdoors without too many restrictions. Creating their own has been a great choice for them.
