Leavenworth Tubing: A Great Change of Plans!

Leavenworth Tubing: A Great Change of Plans!

Heading over Stevens Pass on Highway 2 this past weekend, we were looking for a place to stop for some exercise. There was so much snow, that we decided a leisurely hike would not be first on our list. We decided to go all the way into Leavenworth.

When we pulled into Leavenworth, I Googled: Leavenworth tubing. The first hit was Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, which is at the end of Ski Hill Road. They offered tubing, as well as snowshoeing, snowboarding, and multiple ways to ski.

The tubing was only $18 for 90 minutes and they let us do one ride for free just to make sure that the kids were going to like it. We felt that our 3-year old was too young to go down, since all riders have to be on their own tube.

Our 7-year old was a bit reluctant at first, but once she went down, it was on for the next hour or so. I think that teenage kids would probably use up the whole time for sure.

There were some fun places for our 3-year old to wander around to, including the lodge which has hot chocolate! She also built some small snowmen and had fun watching her sister ride down the hill.

I went down one time, so as not to hear about it for the next couple months from my daughters. I could just hear them, "Ha, ha, ha; Papa was scared..."
